Refund Policy

Deposit Payment Refund

The program deposit is fully refundable in the event that ALBA is contacted, in writing, at least 60 days prior to the term’s orientation date. Within 60 days of the term orientation, a refund of deposit would be subject to review, based on fees and services already covered for the term, including administration costs and prepaid hosting services, such as housing, excursions and other activities.

Balance Payment Refund

The program balance payment is fully refundable in the event that ALBA is notified, in writing, at least 45 days prior to the term orientation date. Within 45 days of the orientation date, a refund of the balance payment will be reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis and based on fees and services already covered for the term, including administration costs and prepaid hosting services, such as housing, excursions and other activities. Students who have not paid their balance payment because of extenuating circumstances, or because they are financial aid recipients and are not receiving their financial aid disbursement until after the balance payment due date, will still be held accountable for all unpaid fees.

Acceptance of ALBA Refund Policy

It is the student’s sole responsibility to familiarize yourself with this refund policy. By paying any fees and submitting your Agreement of Understanding in the ALBA portal, by email or by signing the Agreement of Understanding, you indicate that you have read this refund policy and that you agree with and fully accept the terms of this refund policy.

If you do not agree with or fully accept the terms of this refund policy, we ask that you do not pay ALBA any fees and you do not continue with enrollment in the ALBA program.

Withdrawal from the Program During the Term

Students who withdraw from the ALBA program during the term will not be given any refund. The student is accountable for all unpaid fees, unless granted release from that obligation after being reviewed by ALBA. Paid fees will be forfeited and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Fees not yet paid due to extenuating circumstances that were prearranged, in writing, with ALBA and/or fees not yet paid due to delay in financial aid disbursement, will still be the obligation of the student to pay.

Term Interruption

Refund eligibility will be reviewed in the event of a terrorist event or an imminent threat to personal safety, which is determined and documented by a U.S. State Department Travel Warning, or a pandemic disease warning, which is determined and documented by the U.S. State Department, the Center for Disease Control and/or Spanish health authorities. In general, within 45 days of the term orientation day, the housing portion of the program cost is not refundable, as it is not recoverable by ALBA from local providers, but this will be reviewed. Full or partial refund of the tuition cost and fees, will be based on the circumstances of the situation, recoverable and/or non-realized expenses and committment costs such as administration costs and prepaid hosting services, such as housing, excursions and other activities.

Program Completion and Grades

Attendance and certificate of completion and grades submission to a student’s home institution will not be confirmed and communicated until all fees are received in-full and the student’s account balance has been verified to be zero.

Cancellation Policy

ALBA reserves the right to cancel any admission due to insufficient enrollment. Program deposit and balance payments will be refunded. ALBA is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the Parent / Guardian / Student if the admission is cancelled.
