Evergreen Institute
EverGreen Institute is a non-profit organization based in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon Jungle.
Our partnership allows ALBA students to join the Evergreen Institute Internship while receiving a significant discount on their ALBA tuition.
Goals
Promote education and research as the key to sustainable development and the preservation of nature.
Education
Carry out workshops for children at the local school to increase their area of influence. Opening their perception of themselves, allowing them to gain confidence as they realize their role as agents of change.
Sustainability
Since 2014, EverGreen Institute has supported the initiative of the San Rafael Community to set the example in the region for rainforest preservation and sustainable development.
Research
Gathering information and monitoring the biodiversity in the Communal Reserve is done on a regular basis. Focusing mainly on herpetology and ornithology. This allows us to assess the situation and manage the resources available to ensure the preservation of the area, its wildlife, and resources.

Joining through ALBA
Combining an Internship at EverGreen Institute with ALBA Study Abroad is not only 100% possible but highly recommendable. This experience will allow you to broaden your intercultural competence while learning about sustainability, practicing your Spanish, and contributing to a better future.ALBA will provide support to students, both logistically and economically, so that they can join the EverGreen Institute Internship during a Spring or Summer trimester, immediately before or after their quarter term in Barcelona.
Costs
Internship fee: $1700/month (orientative price)
- Included: Housing, maintenance, tutoring, and field trips included.
- Not included: Transportation to Iquitos, Peru. International insurance, personal expenses.
ALBA partnership discount: 20% discount applied to ALBA study abroad tuition*
*Applied retroactively as a reimbursement after the term abroad with ALBA has finished and once the internship experience with EverGreen Institute has begun.
